Background

I am trained in a variety of therapies the main ones being: Humanistic, Art, and E.M.D.R. In my career I’ve applied these techniques to many problems to do with career and choices around meaning; to life crises such as infidelity or loss; to severe lifelong depression and or anxiety; and abuse and psychological trauma.

Before starting my practice here in London I worked as a counsellor in Buenos Aires, Argentina for about 3 years, and after that I was in Phnom Penh, Cambodia for about 10 years. In Cambodia I founded and ran what was the main counselling centre for families and adults in the capital Phnom Penh. Living abroad was a wonderful experience; it taught me a lot about why people do what they do. I’ve been back in London for about 10 years now running my own private practice.

Therapy

It never ceases to amaze me how people naturally retain an awareness of themselves, despite whatever stresses they are under. One of the most important elements to realise this is space to reflect. What is often found then is something that changes us, and helps us grow. One of my favourite lines from Leonard Coen:

“You lose your grip, and then you slip, into the masterpiece”.

I am a registered member of the British Association of Counselors and Psychotherapists (B.A.C.P.).
